While I adore “Love Story” I still don’t like Ms. TayTay because she bores the hell out of me. She’s also all OMGWHYDOESN’TTHISBOYCALLME?! I have enough of that in my own life that I don’t need to hear a gorgeous famous talented girl tell me to give up hope. I must say that many artists write about the same things over and over again so this isn’t any different. I don’t like Beyonce much either but at least she wears minimal amounts of clothing while talking about how fierce she is, 3OH!3 has sick beats when talking about groupies, and Jay Z is witty while saying how he’s the best in the game, but then again I don’t even like music, so my entire argument is invalid.

When You Question Their Dubious Life Choices

Hey friend, are you considering attending a hipster soiree tonight? Well, you know how in polite society we’re taught never to talk about three taboo subjects: Sex, politics and religion? Well, those topics are all fair game in the hipster world (seriously, you can totally pick up a girl by blurting out something sexually explicit and then insulting her political stance). However, there are a few questions you should avoid posing when you’re all smashed on someone’s rooftop, wondering which dude’s loft bed you’re most likely to crash in. They are as follows:

1). Why do you smoke when, like, everyone knows it’s pretty much a one-way ticket to Cancer Town, U.S.A?

Not only is this just a stupid-ass question in any realm, it’s also, in a way, questioning the hipster’s very tendency to make poor life choices. Cancer is the least of that dude’s worries, trust me. Scurvy is definitely a very real possibility when all you eat is Froot Loops.

2). What do you do?

By asking this question you are both self-identifying as a conventional loser (Jesus, are you going to talk about the weather next? ‘Cause if so, I have to go over there and look meaningfully at the skyline for a little bit. Yeah…), you’re also opening up a whole can of sorrowful worms that will only catch you a sad kettle of fish. Why? Because this hipster most likely hates what he or she does. Either that, or he or she is unemployed. And by asking this very simple, seemingly innocuous question, you have suddenly assumed the role of disappointed parent. He will present you with a litany of projects that he is currently hashing out in order to prove he does not, in fact, lie in bed all day checking Facebook, (Yeah, I’m selling these handmade puppets on Etsy and interning at an indie music mag and I might be working on a book based on this blog that me and Jonas are planning to write.), afterwhich he will never speak to you again. Just stick to chatting about Nietzsche. Everyone loves Nietzsche.

3). Why are your pants so tight?
